SKY Bodywork opened its doors in July 2019 at 93 Elm Street in Somerville, Massachusetts. A massage therapy practice with an interest in community, SKY Bodywork offers massage treatments, small classes and workshops, and other natural health-related activities and events.
We spend a large part of our waking hours unconscious of our bodies and engaged in pattern-dependent, habitual tasks. I feel that there is always an opportunity to slow down, stop in our tracks, and reorient ourselves in our bodies. But we are social beings and we need help!
SKY Bodywork has six highly skilled therapists working with a variety of approaches who are ready to assist you. Please read our bios below.
If you have any questions, please give us a call or text at 857-425-9181, or email at seth@skybodywork.com.

Seth Yarden (he)
MA License #15097
My approach to bodywork is grounded in tai chi and dance. Through a flowing, subtly powerful touch, I encourage my clients to deepen their awareness of breathing, body alignment, and natural internal flexibility and strength.I work intuitively with each person to address their daily and long-term concerns, to build a deep and caring massage treatment that meets that person where she or he is at in that moment.
Though I have a background in martial arts and dance, for twenty years I found myself sitting behind a computer screen, working as a Japanese/English translator. The yearning to work more consciously with my hands and entire body brought me (back) to bodywork.
In my spare time, I love to work with my hands – gardening, cooking, rescuing furniture, delving the luster in old things… A New York/Massachusetts native, I lived in Kyoto, Japan for 15 years before moving back in 2011. (More info here.) I now live in Cambridge with my wife and our two soccer-crazy sons.

Lily Osmond (she)
MA License #9571
Lily has been an avidly practicing massage therapist since 2010. After graduating art school in 2009, she decided to go down a completely different path. Initially thinking she would be practicing medicine in a more medical setting in a different field, she quickly realized she wanted a more intuitive holistic, do-no-harm, thoughtful approach, and a family member with a terminal illness inspired her toward a connection down the healing path as a career that she feels very passionate about.
Lily’s approach to bodywork is intuitive loving & thoughtful, treating the body as a whole. She has trained in sports, deep tissue, MFR, tigger point, passive stretching, cupping and prenatal, and has practiced alongside chiropractors, acupuncturists, physical therapists, psychologists and personal trainers. She has worked in both spa and clinical settings at highly respected spas and wellness centers throughout the Boston area. Lily continues to learn different modalities as well, and evolves through hands-on practice to better help her clients. Whether addressing injury, trauma or inner healing, she believes “our issues are in our tissues” and she’s here to facilitate a healing practice above all. When Lily isn’t working she loves to be oceanside as much as possible, surrounded by nature and animals, meditating and practicing mindfulness.

Matt Jenkins (he)
MA License #13435
I graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Therapeutic Massage in 2006. I trained in both Orthopedic Massage and Craniosacral Therapy and integrate techniques from both modalities into my work. I value the unique way in which therapeutic touch can guide the body to a state of relaxation that can help ease tension, decrease pain, and benefit overall health and well-being.
I employ a skilled touch and I work with both depth and subtlety. People have varying levels of sensitivity to pressure and I always aim to work at the appropriate level for each person.
I consider educating a key part of what I do. I enjoy helping people identify ways to improve posture and movement patterns so that they continue to feel well even off the massage table.

John Jay Pielmeier (he)
MA License #12717
I believe each body has the capability to heal itself and I know that everybody is different. I like to incorporate positive energy into all my sessions because I believe it assists in the body’s natural healing process.
I am an alum of Cortiva Institute (MA) and am in my eighth year of practice. I specialize in and enjoy deep tissue, therapeutic and myofascial release therapies the most, as I feel these are the most effective therapies for fascial and muscular release and will resolve the pain or discomfort you’re feeling. I also do some Neuromuscular/trigger point therapy, sports massage, and calming Swedish massage, but often enough I will combine these therapies in every session where needed.
Throughout my career as an LMT, I’ve come to realize how important self-care is in pain management. I really enjoy sharing self-care techniques with my clients after their massage.
Outside of my professional career I do many things. I love going on bike rides both for fun and for commuting. I enjoy live music and really love local art and enjoy the open studios around town.

Rachel Brailove (she)
MA License #16114
Rachel’s approach to therapeutic massage begins with listening to each client’s individual concerns and goals, whether that’s overall relaxation or specific areas of pain or restricted movement. She typically blends a variety of muscular therapy techniques with the gliding and kneading of Swedish massage. She is also certified in manual lymphatic drainage.
She believes massage doesn’t have to be painful to be effective. She favors moderate pressure that calms the nervous system while helping muscles release, but will adjust to the client’s preferences in each area.
