Seth K. Yarden
Born in 1968, in Rhinebeck, New York.
First drawn to body-related disciplines and arts as a teenager.
Practiced various forms of martial arts and dance for many years, gradually gaining awareness of therapeutic approaches such as acupuncture, massage and sotai movement therapy.
Moved to Kyoto, Japan in 1996. Studied classical kyogen dance and comedy with Akira Shigeyama, and butoh with Katsura Kan, Masami Yurabe and others, and was an active member of Dancing Commune. Translator specializing in traditional and contemporary art, culture, philosophy and religion.
Became aware of ways of living and social consciousness quite different from anything experienced in the U.S. or Europe.
Moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2011 in the wake of the Fukushima Power Plant failure, and floundered flamboyantly for several years before heeding the call of massage and body-work.
Graduate of The Massage School in Boston (2017).
Noticed at the age of 14 that the initials of his birth name, Kerem Seth Yarden, would look cooler if he switched them around. Hence, thirty-five years later, SKY Bodywork.
